Tom Randall brings decades of musicianship, teaching experience, and craftsmanship to his students, along with a patient and encouraging approach.
A graduate of Wesleyan University with a BA in Music, Tom served as a high school music and band director at Tantasqua Regional High School in Sturbridge. There, he taught and guided generations of young musicians through ensembles, music theory, and instrumental study.
Tom is also an accomplished luthier. He trained at the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery and went on to work with Guild Guitars and the Martin warranty repair center at the Fretted Instrument Workshop in Amherst. His deep understanding of how stringed instruments are built, voiced, and maintained gives him a unique perspective as a guitar teacher.
At the Red Barn, Tom teaches piano, guitar, and mandolin. He works with students of all ages and combines his academic background, practical experience, and love of music to help each student build confidence, develop strong skills, and enjoy making music.
